I will confess, if I have the choice at a BBQ between hot gods or burgers, I will pretty much always choose the hot dog. Something about it. And yet, I LOVE making and devouring these turkey burgers. If you've never used ground turkey for your burgers then you must give it a try and here's an easy recipe for you to do just that! For the burgers I use some of the ingredients I found in an everyday food magazine but adjust it a bit.
What you'll need:
1 1/2 lb Ground Turkey // 1/4 cup Dijon Mustard // 2 Green onion (scallions), thinly sliced
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese // 1/4 cup breadcrumbs // 1 garlic clove, minced
Salt and Pepper to taste // Lettuce and Red Pepper Slices for garnish
Chop green onion/scallions thinly and garlic and add to ground turkey. Add all other ingredients and combine with your hands or with a spatula. Form 4 patties. Everyday Food recommends to place them on grill for 1-2 minutes per side on the hottest part of grill then move to cooler part and continue grilling for 5-10 minutes. I never go the 10 minutes. Probably more like 7 because I don't want them to be dry. For garnish I add some lettuce and grill some red pepper slices which I rub with a little olive oil and grill them for 2-3 minutes. I also put some butter on the buns and put them on the grill for like 10 seconds on each side or until light golden brown.
Baked Sweet Potato Fries
These are so good! I make them as snacks for us while watching a movie. And they are so easy to make. Simply, preheat oven to 425 degrees. Peel and cut your potato into even slices (about 1/4 wide inch) and then add 1 Tbs and salt and pepper to taste. Place in baking sheet and bake in oven for 25-30 mins. I usually toss the potatoes when there's 5 or 10 minutes left. I like mine to have some burn in them. :) Enjoy!
This is basically a simple guacamole recipe. Instead of using mayo I use this simple guacamole. All you will need is 1 avocado, juice from half a lemon (or more if you like it more lemony like me!), 1 small garlic clove minced, salt and pepper to taste. Place all ingredients in dish and mash with a fork. Easy, peasy! (You could also add some diced tomatoes).
